Worship teams

The hour is coming, and now is here, when the true worshipers will worship the Father in spirit and truth, for the Father is seeking such people to worship Him.—John 4:23

Worship teams play a key role in leading our congregation in corporate worship. We look for worship team members who delight in the Lord with all their heart, seek after humility in their musical talents, and encourage one another in brotherly love.

Our hope is that worship at Lifepoint would be characterized by

    Spirit and truth
    Freshness and passion
    Spiritual depth and simplicity

Worship teams for corporate worship services are comprised of a core ensemble

that may include the following:

    Vocals
    Piano
    Keyboard
    Bass
    Acoustic guitar
    Electric guitar
    Drums
    Auxiliary percussion

Expectations of a Worship Team Member

Be a follower of Jesus Christ, believing that He is your Lord and Savior.
Be a member of Lifepoint Church or be pursuing membership.
Be committed to attending regularly scheduled rehearsals.

Philosophy of Worship

We believe that worship is love expressed—the more we see who God is and what he has done the natural response is to express love to Him. Genuine worship that is all about God will change your life. Our desire is to work with the Holy Spirit to create an environment conducive for us worship God together, and to equip and encourage you in personal worship on a daily basis.

Get Involved

Read and fill out our "Worship Team Application", and submit the completed form to Nina Paul. You can pick up a copy of the application at Guest Central located in the main lobby. If you have any questions about our Worship & Music Ministries, don't hesitate to ask. Once we receive your application, one of our staff members will contact you to set up a brief audition.

Next Steps:

Written testimony: we ask that all prospective members of our worship teams write out a brief testimony highlighting God’s saving work in their lives. There is a place for this on the application.

Interview with an Elder: Once the above steps are completed, we will set up a meeting with one of our elders in order to interview and communicate further vision with you.
On the pathway to membership at Lifepoint: we would ask that you be moving along the path towards membership at Lifepoint. We will happily direct you to classes, leaders, etc. and are more than willing to discuss any concerns you may have along these lines.

Commitment to rehearsals and worship services: we ask that you make every effort to participate in scheduled rehearsal. These are informal times of refining arrangements and prayer and typically last from an hour and a half to two hours long. Our pre-service rehearsals are used primarily as sound-checks allowing time for prayerful heart-preparation together. Also, we often worship at the end of our services and we would ask that you make every effort to participate in these “service ending songs.”
Prayer partner: it is strongly recommended that you find a Prayer Partner who will commit to praying for you especially on the Sundays you participate in worship leadership.
Small group affiliation: it is vital to be connected in a Life Group or Discipleship Group where mutual care and accountability can happen.
